CAN YOU PERFORM INSTALLATIONS IF WE ALREADY HAVE A PLAN DRAWN?
We certainly can! We really enjoy the challenge of building plans that others have drawn and the exposure to new types and methods of thinking.
CAN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK IN STAGES?
In short, the answer is yes.
Working in stages is a great way to complete a project as and when the budget allows. With this being said it definitely pays to have a landscape design drawn so you stay on track and focused on the finished product. Staging a landscape project does require experience and its best to discuss it in detail with us to avoid access issues, double ups and remedial work.
HOW LONG BEFORE YOU CAN GET STARTED ON OUR JOB?
Availability is very seasonal with the busiest period from September-April. The best thing to do is plan ahead; get in touch with us and start discussing your project well in advance. We often book out our summer schedule months ahead of time.
WHICH AUCKLAND SUBURBS DO YOU SERVICE?
We’re based in East Auckland (Cockle Bay), but our target area is from Waiau Pa through to Central Auckland. The majority of our time is spent in Remuera, Orakei, Glendowie, Meadowbank, Mellons Bay, St Heliers, Kohimarama, Epsom, Parnell and all of the east and central Auckland suburbs in between. We are prepared to travel throughout Auckland so get in touch to discuss your job.
WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR FOR LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION?
Every season has its challenges and there’s no right or wrong time to start.
Summer is generally more productive with fewer days interrupted by weather. Winter on the other hand can be a great time to start, as you’ll be able to enjoy the completed landscape over the coming summer. Planting in summer can be mitigated by installing an irrigation system and often winter throws the worst at a site and highlights issues such as drainage that can be dealt with at the time.
DO YOU USE SUBCONTRACTORS TO UNDERTAKE THE WORKS?
We only use subcontractors to undertake specific specialist trades such as significant earthworks, plastering and large concrete pours etc. 99% of time we undertake the entire project ourselves and when a subcontractor is required we are always onsite to manage and direct them as required.
WHAT HAPPENS IF WE WANT TO CHANGE THE INITIAL CONCEPT PLAN?
That’s no issue at all. If we need to re draw the plan a fee may apply but usually any small tweaks can be discussed onsite and implemented without any disruption or hassle.
DO YOU TOLERATE SMOKING ONSITE?
That is a no from us! We have a smoke free workplace policy that extends to our subcontractors. We’re not smokers ourselves so we don’t appreciate being exposed to smoking onsite either.
CAN WE SEE EXAMPLES OF YOUR WORK IN PERSON?
Yes! We’re more than happy to take you on a walk through tour of our previous work. We normally take you on a guided visit and request permission from clients to show you round their property. Some may even pop out for a chat!
